Bobby Riley
CEO

Bobby Riley, CEO of Riley Exploration Group, Inc., is a highly regarded oil and gas executive with nearly 40-years’ experience in the independent oil and gas sector.  Having founded this rapidly growing exploration and production (E&P) company in 2012, his vision, tenacity and leadership have garnered the respect of his peers, as well as those who are a part of the rapidly growing Riley Exploration team. Riley, as co-founder, served as CEO and Chairman of their predecessor company Riley Exploration, LLC from 2007 to 2012. This company, with the same core management team as Riley Exploration Group, LLC, proved successful by creating value in the South Texas Eagle Ford Shale and the Eastern Shelf of the Permian Basin.

Riley served as managing partner of privately-held E&P company Tuleta Energy Partners, LLC from 2002 to 2007 until it was acquired by publicly-traded Activa Resources, Inc.  Following that acquisition, he served as vice-president of operations at Activa Resources from 2007 to 2008.  From 1997-2002, he worked as a drilling consultant specialist for a number of clients where he gained invaluable hands-on experience in the field.  Prior to that, and for almost six years, Riley was president of an oil and gas service company specializing in well design and reservoir data acquisition that was active in Nigeria, Venezuela and Norway.

In addition to his management and operational expertise, Riley designed and patented specialized completion equipment in 1996 that was ultimately licensed to Baker-Hughes.  He also participated in the design, development and testing of Intelligent Well Bore Systems which Weatherford International purchased in 2000.  He founded Durango Energy, Inc., in 1984, where Riley drilled his first well and eventually operated up to 150 wells at his initial E&P start-up.  Riley began his distinguished career at Cameron Iron Works in Houston, TX in 1975.

Riley holds a bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting and Finance from the University of Arts & Science of Oklahoma, and completed the Advanced Drilling Operations and Well Control program at Murchison Drilling School.  He is a member of the American Petroleum Institute and the Society of Professional Engineers and is IADC / MMS Well-Cap Certified.  A firm believer in giving back, Riley is committed to supporting the arts, education, and health and wellness programs in Oklahoma and Texas.

Corey Riley
President

With more than 12-years’ experience in the energy and financial industries, Corey Riley is president of Riley Exploration Group, Inc. and is responsible for managing all oil and gas exploration and production operations to produce budgeted profitability within capital expenditures, policy, and strategic planning guidelines.

An experienced financial professional with a successful track record of managing the financial and accounting functions of oil and gas companies, Riley in 2006, co-founded their predecessor company, Riley Exploration, LLC, where he also served as chief financial officer.  From 2007 to 2008, Riley was the business manager of Activa Resources, publicly-traded oil and gas company, and, prior to that, he joined Tuleta Energy Partners, LLC, a privately-held exploration and production company, as business operations manager, where he worked from 2004 - 2007.

Riley holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Central Oklahoma and a Master of Business Administration from Oklahoma Christian University.  He is a member of the Oklahoma City branch of the Council of Petroleum Accountants Societies, a member of the American Association of Professional Landmen and a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.  Committed to giving back to his community, he coaches youth sports and is actively involved in his church.

David LaLonde
Chief Financial Officer

LaLonde is responsible for the controllership, treasury, and economic strategy of the company. Immediately prior to joining Riley Exploration, LaLonde was a partner and director at Petro Capital Securities, an energy-focused investment bank that specializes in corporate finance, and merger and acquisition engagements for upstream clients. Earlier in his career, LaLonde worked for The Sterling Group, an operationally-focused private equity firm, and Bear, Stearns & Co.’s investment banking group. A graduate of Texas A&M University with degrees in accounting and finance, LaLonde also holds an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Kevin Riley
COO & EVP New Ventures

Kevin Riley is the chief operating officer & executive vice president of New Ventures of Riley Exploration Group, Inc.  Coordinating strategies to effectively grow the company through acquisitions and development, Riley cultivates strong relationships with investors and industry partners to ensure the long-term success of the company.

Riley has more than 12-years’ of field, drilling and production background at both exploration and production and oil field services companies, and in 2007, co-founded their predecessor company, Riley Exploration, LLC as chief operating officer and managing partner.  The company realized a successful joint venture and successfully developed assets in two oil and gas basins.  Riley positioned the company to successfully develop lucrative oil and gas assets and manage full-cycle projects from geological concepts through divestiture.

Riley holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Central Oklahoma and an Executive MBA in Energy from the University of Oklahoma.  He is a member of the American Association of Professional Landmen, Independent Petroleum Association of America, and the Society of Petroleum Engineers.  Kevin gives back to his community through church involvement and coaching youth sports.

Harold Atkinson
Executive Vice President of Land

With more than 30 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry as a professional landman, Harold Atkinson is the executive vice president of land for Riley Exploration Group, LLC. He manages landmen and mineral owner relations which includes negotiations, issue management, and joint operations and production sales contracts. He also works with all federal, state, county and municipal agencies that hold jurisdiction over their operation and production region.

Atkinson joined Riley Exploration, LLC, the predecessor company, in 2007 also as the vice president of land. Prior to that, Atkinson was president of Atkinson Energy Corporation, Inc. from 2001-2006, where he owned and operated numerous wells and was the managing partner for Paradigm Exploration, L.P., managing family-owned leasehold, mineral and working interest acquisitions and overriding royalty. Atkinson began his career in 1981 as an independent landman contractor both in the field and in-house for numerous clients, including Mitchell Energy, Santa Fe Minerals Holding Co., Coastal Oil & Gas Corporation, ANR Pipeline, Delhi Pipeline, Aquila Pipeline, Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, TransAmerica Corporation, independent law firms, operators, banking entities and service providers.

Atkinson holds a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics from Texas A&M University. He is a Registered Right-of-Way Agent with the state of Texas and holds a Texas real estate broker license. Active in his community, he volunteers his time with various local service organizations and his church, where he and his wife are members. Appointed by the County Judge and County Commissioners, Atkinson also serves on an Advisory Board for the Fayette County Energy Transportation Reinvestment Zone No.1. appointed by the County Judge and County Commissioners.

James J. Doherty, Jr.
Executive Vice President of Reservoir Engineering

James “Jim” Doherty is the executive vice president of reservoir engineering with Riley Exploration Group, LLC. He oversees all aspects of engineering in drilling, completions, operations, reservoir analysis and optimization, as well as reserves reporting and analysis. He is also involved with prospect generation, reviews, acquisitions and economic analysis of new investments.

Doherty is a seasoned oil and gas executive with more than 35 years’ experience working with both publicly-traded and independent oil and gas companies in the areas of reservoir and operations engineering, acquisitions and divestments, corporate planning, management and executive leadership positions. In 2009, he joined their predecessor company Riley Exploration, LLC, as the manager of engineering, and prior to joining Riley, Doherty was COO and then CEO of Windsor Energy Group from 2007-2009. From 2004-2007, he was the unconventional resources manager for Southwestern Energy Company, and prior to that, held various engineering and management positions at Devon Energy Corp from 1996-2004. He was the manager, new ventures – U.S onshore for Kerr-McGee Corporation from 1995-1996 until Kerr-McGee’s asset merger with Devon. Doherty started his oil and gas career in 1977 at the Sun Oil Co. (Oryx Energy) where he held multiple engineering, management and corporate assignments throughout his 18 years of employment there.

Doherty holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma and is a Registered Professional Engineer in Texas and a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. As active members of their church, Doherty and his wife have organized and led mission trips to serve the poor in northern Peru for more than 15 years and have organized an eye surgery medical mission for the more than 10 years.

Dennis Duval
Executive Vice President of Exploration

Dennis Duval is a geologist and executive vice-president of Exploration for Riley Exploration Group, Inc.  As such, he conducts regional studies, prospect generation, prospect review, as well as cultivates drilling locations within current acreage positions.  Duval manages a team of geologists and geophysicists.

A seasoned and skilled oil and gas finder with more than 20-years’ experience as an exploration and development geologist, Duval joined their predecessor company, Riley Exploration, LLC in 2009.  Prior to joining the Riley team, Duval was a consulting geologist for Kepco Energy from 2008 to 2009, developing drilling prospects in both conventional and unconventional reservoirs in the Mid-Continent and Gulf Coast regions.  Prior to that, he worked for Kirkpatrick Oil Company, generating exploration and drilling prospects in the Mid-Continent area and for Waggoner-Baldridge Energy (now Republic Energy) and Petro-Russo, LLC as an acquisition and senior geologist.

Duval holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology, magna cum laude, from Sul Ross State University and is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists.

D Miller
Senior Vice President of Operations

D Miller serves as Senior Vice President of Operations. Mr. Miller is the acting Asset Manager, overseeing all drilling, completion, production, geologic, and land activities for all Riley operated assets. Prior to joining Riley, Mr. Miller served as Manager of the Production and Planning teams at Halcon Resources from 2013 through 2015. Prior to that, Mr. Miller served as Asset Manager at Thompson Petroleum and Petrohawk Energy Corporation, respectively. Mr. Miller began his career at Dominion Resources where he served in several different engineering roles.

Mr. Miller holds both a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering and a Master in Business Administration in Energy from the University of Oklahoma.

Amy Becker
Vice President of Land

Formerly a lease analyst/land administration with Riley since 2013, was promoted to Vice President of Land. In this new role, Becker will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of all company landmen, as well as maintaining records, contracts, and reports for Riley’s oil and gas properties. Becker holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
